Message from the Principal 9 June 2016
Dear Parents and Carers
North Melbourne Primary School will soon be receiving two new buildings to help accommodate our growing student population and enrolment pressure.
Installation of the new buildings is currently underway, and we expect to be able to use the first set of classrooms in July 2016 and the second set in August 2016.
The new state-of-the-art facilities will allow our students to learn in a modern environment and will provide much needed classroom space.
We are working with the Victorian School Building Authority and the City of Melbourne on a landscape package for the new buildings, which will include:
- planting four mature trees to replace the trees that will be removed as part of the installation process;
- developing plans for a sensory garden adjacent to the relocatable buildings; and
- examining the feasibility of installing a vertical garden on the side of one of the new buildings.
These buildings will complement the school’s amenity as well as improve educational outcomes and opportunities for the school and its students.
I am highly supportive of the actions being taken to accommodate our students, and look forward to these classes being ready for use by our teachers and students.
Principal, North Melbourne Primary School
