Most of our students walk or ride their bikes and scooters to school. Reducing the number of cars around our school makes it safer for everyone. Students say it’s fun; a great time with their friends and to be outside. We say it helps build healthy habits and ensures they are ready to learn.

We strongly encourage all families to walk, scoot or ride to school each day. NMPS has plenty of bike and scooter parking at Gates 2, 3 and 8. There are crossing supervisors on Flemington Rd, Curzon St and Errol Street. Each term, we celebrate the fun of walking, scooting and riding to school with themed event days.

Active Paths to NMPS

With support from TAC we are making it easier and safer to come to school on two feet. NMPS has four marked ‘active paths’ through North Melbourne, near where most of our students live. View the map below and find your best path to walk, scoot or ride to school.

How to park and walk to school

If you sometimes need to drive, park at the start of one of the ‘active paths’ or a few streets away from school and walk your child to the gate. This can be quicker and saves you the hassle of getting stuck in traffic. Avoid parking outside the school.
